PBL Presentations

TERM 3, WEEK 9
Our students have been working on their own PBL activities over the term. This means they have been pursuing their own interests and passions, and learning a whole lot of new skills and knowledge along the way. Yesterday some of the kids presented their learning to the rest of the team. They have really worked hard - well done!

Canterbury Kings Visit

TERM 3, WEEK 7
On Thursday Team Roto had a visit from some members of the Canterbury Kings cricket teams. Rachel, Frankie and Leo shared some of their playing and travelling experiences, and the kids loved asking them lots of questions and getting their autographs. Hopefully the players have inspired lots of the kids to give cricket a try this summer!

Gala Day Fun

TERM 3, WEEK 6
On Sunday the school held a Community Gala Day. There were lots of fun activities to do like Crazy Bikes, Bouncy Castles, and Kicking for Cash. It was also great to see some of our kids perform as part of the Kapa Haka and Jump Jam groups.

Dancing in the Aisles

TERM 3, WEEK 6
On Friday afternoon Team Miro walked over to Shirley Boys High School to watch some of their musicians perform some songs for us. The music was great and the kids (and parent helpers) were upon their feet dancing for almost the whole show!

Walkathon

TERM 3, WEEK 5
This week the whole school competed in a Walkathon to raise money for learning resources at school. The challenge was to complete 20 laps of a circuit around the school. In very cold conditions, everyone showed great determination and perseverance to do as many laps as they could. Well done team!

Science Fun

TERM 3, WEEK 4
Our science topic was kicked off this term with an exciting visit to our school by Science Alive! The kids got to be Forensic Scientists for the day, and had to solve a crime by searching for clues, collecting evidence and exploring chemical reactions.
It has also inspired us to do some of our own investigations in class. So we have been making our own hypotheses and carrying out experiments with flight, insulation, heating, and melting and freezing.
